This will create the correctly-named folder (and any sub-folders - for instance, an Arturia instrument will create an 'Arturia' folder in 'VST3 Presets' then another sub-folder for the specific instrument, the name of which changed when the went to V3 of their collection) and - possibly - register that folder in a Cubase XML file.

There maybe something that happens with Cubase in terms of creating/registering the VST3 Presets folder for each instrument - which is why (as I mentioned in my earlier post), on a new install I will usually open any VSTs for which I have existing VST3 presets, and select 'Save As VST3 Preset' for whichever patch is loaded. I didn't do any extensive trial-and-error at that point, but I'm sure that's the routine I went through at least a couple of times to get the VST3 presets working. I'm not sure about the XML file thing, I just noticed that sometimes when I manually created a VST3 Presets sub-folder, and tried to 'Open VST3 preset' in the VST, that none of the presets were there but if I deleted the sub-folder, and did a 'Save As VST3 Preset' from the VST, then dragged everything into the folder that Cubase creates when you save that first VST3 preset, then things seemed to work.

(Where, exactly, your 'Documents' folder is located depends on your initial Windows setup, I think.) On Windows 7, the correct VST3 folder for presets is 'Documents/VST3 Presets'. It's never fun to migrate all the old stuff over to a new computer, but I'm sure it will be worth it in the end. Much appreciate any assistance as I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure this one out. I'm beginning to think the only thing Cubase saved is the name and location and not the actual settings.ĭoes anyone know if this is true, or is there a work-around to load the saved presets. When I go into media bay and click on the folders I can see Omnisphere and the others listed, and when I click on them I can see all the presets I saved and named. I copied the VST3 preset folder to a USB stick and have loaded on the new system in the Program folder.(I've also tried loading into different folders in the computer such as my vst folder, with no change).

My problem is I've loaded some of my VSTs(Omnisphere), Waldorf PPG, MTron Pro, Minimonsta, G Force Oddity, and none of the VST3 presets I saved in Cubase on my old computer will load when I click the Load preset button in Cubase in the instrument toolbar.

I'm running Windows 7 and Cubase 6 64bit. I'm in the process of moving all my DAW stuff to a new computer(PC) dedicated solely to my DAW and recording in my home studio.
